Thai Airways Unveils New Business Class Suites and Premium Economy

Thai Airways is preparing for a major upgrade, revealing plans for an all-new Business Class experience and the introduction of Premium Economy across its future Boeing 777 and Boeing 787-10 fleets.

Set to launchfrom 2027, the airline’s next-generation Royal Silk Business Class will feature fully enclosed suites with sliding privacy doors, larger entertainment screens and enhanced comfort designed for long-haul travel.

Leading the upgrade will be four

exclusive front-row suites dubbed “Business First”. Replacing traditional First Class on the airline’s Boeing 777 fleet, these premium suites

will offer extra space, larger 32-inch entertainment screens, companion seating and elevated privacy for travellers seeking a more

luxurious experience.

The remainder of the Business Class cabin will feature the latest Vantage Nova suite design, complete with direct aisle access, lie-flat beds, Bluetooth audio connectivity and a more residential-style cabin aesthetic.

Perhaps the biggest news for many travellers is the arrival of Premium Economy. The new cabin class will bridge the gap between Economy and Business Class, offering wider seats, additional personal space and enhanced privacy features. Premium Economy passengers can also expect 16-inch entertainment screens, while Economy Class travellers will enjoy upgraded 13-inch screens.

The new cabins will first appear on Thai Airways’ refurbished Boeing 777-300ER fleet from mid-2027, followed by the airline’s new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners.

For Australians travelling to Thailand and beyond, the upgrades signal a significant improvement to the onboard experience, particularly on popular routes connecting Bangkok with Europe, Asia and Australia.
