Singapore Airlines Unveils Stylish New Melbourne Airport Lounge

Singapore Airlines is preparing to elevate the pre-flight experience in Melbourne, with an all-new SilverKris Lounge set to open at Melbourne Airport before the end of the year.

Moving away from its current lower-level location, the airline’s new lounge will take pride of place on the third floor of Terminal 2’s international departures area, offering a brighter, more spacious environment complete with sweeping views across the airfield.

Located above Gate 10, alongside the Emirates Lounge and near the Qantas First Lounge, the new SilverKris Lounge will occupy a premium position within Melbourne Airport’s international terminal.

The upgraded space spans approximately 750 square metres, making it around 30% larger than the existing lounge and capable of accommodating more than 170 guests. The expansion is expected to significantly improve comfort and reduce congestion ahead of Singapore Airlines’ five daily services to Singapore.

Designed around Singapore Airlines’ signature “Home Away From Home” concept, the lounge will feature dedicated areas for dining, working and relaxing. Travellers can expect a sophisticated blend of contemporary design and practical comfort, with stylish seating, semi-private work pods, wireless charging stations and USB-C connectivity throughout.

Food lovers will appreciate the addition of a live kitchen in the Business Class lounge, similar to those found in Singapore Airlines’ highly regarded lounges in Perth and Singapore Changi Airport. Meanwhile, a striking U-shaped bar is expected to become a popular gathering spot for travellers looking to begin their journey with a signature Singapore Sling.

For First Class guests, a more exclusive experience awaits, with an intimate lounge area and à la carte dining designed to deliver elevated service and privacy.

Importantly, access won’t be limited to Singapore Airlines passengers. The lounge will also welcome eligible Business Class travellers and Gold-tier frequent flyers flying with Star Alliance carriers including Air New Zealand, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and Air India. Virgin Australia Velocity Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus and Beyond members travelling on Singapore Airlines services will also be able to enjoy the new facilities.

With more space, enhanced dining and thoughtful design touches throughout, Melbourne’s new SilverKris Lounge is shaping up to become one of Australia’s most impressive international airline lounges.
