OMAN AIR TO JOIN ONEWORLD ALLIANCE IN 2025
Oman Air will officially join the Oneworld alliance in 2025, slightly delayed from the original “late 2024” timeline. In a positive update, the airline is already collaborating with Qantas to offer reward seats through Qantas points.
The Muscat-based carrier will join fellow Middle Eastern airlines Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian, as well as a global roster of Oneworld members including American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, JAL, Malaysia Airlines, and Qantas.
“As we look toward our highly anticipated Oneworld membership next year, we’re excited to offer even more rewards and seamless travel across all member airlines,” said Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air.
Oneworld VP Gerhard Girkinger added that Oman Air will bring “a truly unique destination to the alliance,” further enriching the network’s global reach.
Operating from its hub at Muscat International Airport, Oman Air connects to five key Oneworld member hubs: Amman, Colombo, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, and London Heathrow. The airline already has codeshare agreements in place with fellow Oneworld members Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and Sr iLankan Airlines.
As a full member of Oneworld, Oman Air will offer travellers even more options, including the ability to plan seamless round-the-world journeys with Oneworld. Whether booking with cash or using frequent flyer points for a multi-city award, passengers will now have even greater flexibility and access to the full range of Oneworld’s global network.
