Melbourne Airport: Big Changes on the Ground and in the Air

Big things are taking off at Melbourne Airport, with changes designed to make travelling through Victoria’s busiest airport a smoother experience.

First up, the new pick-up and drop-off arrangements, which came into effect on 6 October 2026. Travellers heading to or from the airport should allow a little extra time to familiarise themselves with the updated locations and follow the new directional signage.

The good news? Our ATPI team has already given the new arrangements a couple of test runs this month. Our advice is simple: follow the signs and don’t hesitate to ask the friendly airport staff for assistance.

And that’s not all. Melbourne Airport has also unveiled plans for a major international terminal expansion, designed to accommodate growing passenger numbers and improve the experience for international travellers.

The proposed development represents another exciting step towards a bigger, better-connected Melbourne Airport.

Whether you’re jetting off overseas or welcoming someone home, a little planning goes a long way.
